Shacky Timburwa

Shacky Timburwa

Member of Parliament, Chegutu West · Forbes Africa 30 Under 30, 2021

Shacky Timburwa is a Zimbabwean entrepreneur, public speaker and Member of Parliament for Chegutu West. Raised in Mutare, he built a career in energy and enterprise before entering parliamentary life. Forbes Africa included him in its 2021 30 Under 30 class, recognising a generation working through the challenges of the pandemic.

In The Wisdom State, Timburwa brings his interest in leadership and national direction to the page. His public writing returns to opportunity, productive industry and the responsibilities of leadership. His work sits at the intersection of enterprise, public service and the question of what one generation leaves to the next.

His books move between public responsibility and the inner life: African governance in The Wisdom State and The Throne and the Ballot; power and security in Man, State and System; consciousness in The Politics of Being; and attention and purpose in Signal to Noise Ratio.

Shakemore Wellington Timburwa, known as Shacky, also publishes as S. W. Timburwa.
